Bacolod's Calea

Mixed Berry Cheesecake with pineapple bits

When in Bacolod, there's one cake place I make sure I go to just to experience the sweet familiar taste of home. Ever since I was young, there were only two places where we buy cake, it was either Bob's or Calea, the latter of which I shall show you why. As an avid fan of good food and premium sweets, Calea possesses several key qualities in setting a great standard for what Bacolod deems as a local favorite. One very important factor in their cakes is that you are guaranteed that the taste will always be the same as it was ten years ago. At this point, I'll let my photos do the talk. And yes, it's as good as it looks.

Broken Glass Cake

Black Samboo

My favorite Cream Puff of all.

Triple Chocolate Mousse

Caramel Pecan Cheesecake (the caramel was good)

They also serve pretty good coffee.

French Chocolate Cheesecake? This is too sweet for me.

Pecan Pie  (a bestseller and  my favorite.)

Apple Pie

I know, right?

This was the old Calea location, but they made the new interior look sad.

The new Calea over at Balay Quince, always packed with locals at tourists alike.

This was before the renovation...a much cozy interior.
